Your mission
As Global Product Manager, you are responsible for the development, management, and market success of a defined portfolio of Biobest solutions at group level. The portfolio may include biological crop protection products, monitoring solutions, and selected high-tech innovations, depending on business needs.
Working closely with other product managers and cross-functional teams, you translate grower needs and market insights into successful products and portfolio strategies. You take ownership of product development, portfolio performance, and global product launches, while ensuring strong alignment between global strategy and local execution.
This role offers flexibility in scope and evolution, allowing the portfolio and responsibilities to grow and adapt over time.
Key responsibilities
Product Development & Innovation Support
- Identify grower needs, market trends, and opportunities for new product development or product improvement across the assigned portfolio.
- Lead or contribute to product development and innovation projects using the Stage Gate process.
- Act as project lead or coordinator across R&D, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and local teams.
- Prepare and coordinate global product launches, including timelines, technical and marketing documentation, training, and internal alignment.
- Drive turnover and margin improvement through innovation, market expansion, and promotional initiatives.
Product Portfolio Management
- Manage the assigned product portfolio at group level to ensure market relevance, competitiveness, and long-term profitability.
- Gather local and global market insights to identify gaps, risks, and growth opportunities in the portfolio.
- Develop portfolio strategies, business cases, and marketing plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders and local teams.
- Support global sales teams in increasing share of wallet with key customers.
- Monitor pricing, positioning, and margin performance of the portfolio.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Maintain regular contact with local teams, growers, and partners to stay close to market needs.
- Monitor global market developments, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings.
- Analyse and share market and competitive insights to support strategic decision-making.
Product Knowledge & Commercial Support
- Build and maintain strong product expertise and act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders.
- Support global sales and marketing teams with product information, tools, training, and strategic input tailored to local markets.
- Facilitate cross-country product knowledge sharing and alignment.
- Coordinate demo trials and consolidate trial results for internal use.
- Lead the development and execution of global communication plans for product launches.
- Maintain and develop relationships with external suppliers and technology partners.
Your profile
- You have a higher degree in Bio-engineering, Biology, Agriculture or Plant Sciences, or a related field.
- First experience (or strong interest) in product management, project coordination, technical sales, or market development within horticulture or agriculture.
- Affinity with biological crop protection and sustainable agriculture.
- Good analytical and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross-functional and international teams.
- Proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable taking ownership in a changing environment.
- Fluent in English and Dutch; additional languages are a strong asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
