NemaFence® Green - fast acting sustainable control for chafer & vine weevil grubs

How does NemaFence® Green control white grubs?

  • Parasitic nematodes for effective controlHeterorhabditis bacteriophora controls garden chafer and black vine weevil larvae in the soil. The nematodes enter the larvae and kill them within 24 to 48 hours through their symbiotic bacteria.
  • Natural and sustainable action – the nematodes reproduce inside the dead host and release new infective juveniles that search for additional larvae.
  • Safe for IPM programmes – NemaFence® Green has no harmful side effects on beneficial insects and fits perfectly into an integrated pest management strategy.

When should you apply NemaFence® Green?

  • Start at the first signs of infestation – apply as soon as the first larvae are detected.
  • Apply during the active larval stage – the recommended application period is April to September. For garden chafer, the ideal timing is August to September. For black vine weevil, apply as soon as larvae are present.
  • Start early in potting substrates – in pots and containers, early applications after sowing or planting are recommended.

How do you apply NemaFence® Green?

  • Apply the nematodes with water – dissolve the entire contents of the package in water and keep the suspension well agitated during application.
  • Keep the soil moist – moisten the soil before application if necessary and irrigate immediately afterwards to move the nematodes into the soil. Keep the soil moist for at least two weeks.
  • Avoid direct sunlight – apply preferably in the evening or under cloudy conditions for optimum performance.

Under which conditions should you use NemaFence® Green?

  • Optimum performance between 14°C and 30°C (57°F to 86°F) – keep the soil temperature within this range during application and for at least two weeks afterwards.
  • Use suitable application equipment – do not exceed 20 bar spray pressure and never apply through flood irrigation systems.
