NemaFence® Felti – rapid control of soil-dwelling larval pests and WFT

How does NemaFence® Felti control soil pests and thrips?

  • Parasitic nematodes for broad-spectrum pest controlSteinernema feltiae controls fungus gnats, leafminers, shore flies, thrips and the South American tomato moth. The nematodes enter the pest and kill it within 24 to 48 hours through their symbiotic bacteria.
  • Works in the soil and on foliage – the nematodes reproduce inside the dead host and release new infective juveniles that search for additional pests.
  • Perfect for IPM programmes – NemaFence® Felti is compatible with most beneficial insects and provides a reliable biological solution for a wide range of crops.

When should you apply NemaFence® Felti?

  • Start at the first signs of infestation – apply as soon as the first pests are detected.
  • Suitable for preventative and curative use – apply preventatively or curatively, depending on the target pest and pest pressure.
  • Repeat when necessary – for soil applications, a 6-week application interval is recommended.

How do you apply NemaFence® Felti?

  • Apply to the soil or foliage – apply the nematodes with water and keep the suspension well agitated during application.
  • Maintain adequate moisture – keep the soil moist during treatment. For foliar applications, leaves should remain wet for at least 2 hours after application.
  • Avoid direct sunlight – apply preferably in the evening or under cloudy conditions for optimum performance.

Under which conditions should you use NemaFence® Felti?

  • Optimum performance between 14°C and 30°C (57°F to 86°F) – keep the soil or substrate temperature within this range during and after application.
  • Use suitable application equipment – do not exceed 20 bar spray pressure and never apply through flood irrigation systems.
  • Ideal for integrated pest management – thanks to its broad activity, rapid action and natural reproduction, NemaFence® Felti is a valuable addition to any IPM strategy.
