Supply Chain

Ready to turn demand into smart supply chain planning from our headquarters in Westerlo? Join Biobest as our Demand & Supply Chain Planning Analyst.

Biobest is a global leader in sustainable solutions for horticulture. From our headquarters in Westerlo, we develop, produce, and distribute biological crop protection and pollination solutions, including bumblebees, beneficial insects, and integrated crop protection products.

With customers in more than 60 countries, we operate within a complex international supply chain where living products with limited shelf life, conditioned transport, and precise planning processes are critical. Our operations require operational excellence, data-driven decision-making, and continuous optimization.

To support our growth and further professionalization, we are looking for a highly analytical Demand & Supply Chain Planning Analyst who wants to make an impact in a challenging and dynamic environment.

The role

As a Demand & Supply Chain Planning Analyst, you will be part of the Purchase & Material Planning team and work closely with Production (rearing), Packaging, S&OP, Customer Service, and external suppliers.

You play a key role in translating market demand into robust planning and ensuring efficient material availability within an international context.

Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for demand planning and forecasting for both local and international markets.
  • You manage and optimize MRP parameters, safety stocks, replenishment strategies, and forecast settings within the ERP system.
  • You analyse forecast deviations, identify trends, and translate them into concrete planning actions.
  • You ensure the optimal balance between service level, inventory turnover, and working capital.
  • You safeguard material availability and align purchasing and packing planning with production and customer requirements. You create purchase and process orders in our ERP system.
  • You manage stock allocation and support prioritization decisions in situations of constrained availability.
  • You identify supply chain risks (capacity, lead times, shelf life, logistical constraints) and propose proactive mitigation actions.
  • You support and participate in S&OP processes through analysis, reporting, and KPI monitoring.
  • You actively contribute to process and system improvements (ERP, planning methodologies, reporting tools).
  • You act as a subject matter partner for internal stakeholders and represent the department in cross-functional meetings.
  • You provide back-up support within purchasing and planning when required.

Your profile

We are looking for a structured and analytical professional who translates data into well-founded decisions and improvement initiatives.

  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Economics, Applied Economics, Logistics, or a related field.
  • You have relevant experience in demand planning, material planning, or supply chain analysis, preferably within a production environment.
  • You possess solid knowledge of:
    • Inventory management and stock optimization
    • MRP processes and parameter management
    • Forecasting methodologies and demand analysis
    • Logistics flows and end-to-end supply chain processes
  • You have strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities (knowledge of Power Query or similar tools is a plus).
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) is a strong asset.
  • You have a process-oriented mindset, work accurately, and maintain oversight in a complex environment.
  • You communicate effectively and collaborate smoothly with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • You are fluent in both Dutch and English (spoken and written).

We offer

  • An analytically challenging role with both strategic and operational impact.
  • A key position within a complex international supply chain.
  • Room for initiative, optimization, and professional growth.
  • Training opportunities aligned with your development.
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work.
  • A competitive salary package with fringe benefits.
